Abstract

This study investigates the global evolution of sustainable agroindustry research through a bibliometric analysis of 982 Scopus-indexed publications from 2015–2025. The increasing urgency of climate change, food insecurity, resource scarcity, and sustainability transition has accelerated scholarly interest in circular economy practices, digital innovation, climate resilience, and sustainable supply chains within agroindustrial systems. However, previous studies remain fragmented and predominantly focus on isolated sustainability dimensions without providing an integrated intellectual mapping. Accordingly, this study addresses the research gap by developing a comprehensive bibliometric framework integrating circular economy, digital innovation, climate resilience, and sustainable supply-chain perspectives. Grounded in Sustainable Development Theory, Circular Economy Theory, Innovation Diffusion Theory, and Resilience Theory, the study employs performance analysis and science mapping techniques using Scopus Analyze Search Results and VOSviewer. The findings reveal substantial growth in publication output and citation performance, with Brazil, China, and Indonesia emerging as dominant contributors. Network, overlay, and density visualizations identify major thematic clusters related to production systems, waste valorization, innovation, policy, and sustainable governance, while recent research trends increasingly emphasize artificial intelligence, circular bioeconomy, and climate-smart agroindustry. The study concludes that sustainable agroindustry research is evolving toward integrated, technology-driven, and climate-responsive sustainability paradigms. Policy implications emphasize strengthening circular economy policies, digital agriculture investment, climate-resilient agroindustrial systems, and collaborative sustainability governance.
